1 If a loan of 110 000 EUR is taken out for a period of 25 years with an applicable variable annual interest rate of 4,70%, when the agreement origination fee is 0 EUR (when buying property from real estate developers) and a mortgage registration fee is 8,60 EUR, 1.99 EUR C card plan fee and the loan instalments will be paid by annuity repayment method, then the annual percentage rate of charge (APR) would be 4,84% the total amount paid by the borrower – 189 034,43 EUR, the total number of payments – 300 and monthly instalment would be 628,10 EUR. A mortgage loan is granted when acceptable to the bank real estate will be pledged and insured, as a collateral. In most cases, a mortgage loan is a long-term financial obligation that lasts up to 30 years, and untimely fulfilment of the terms of the credit agreement during the entire period can have negative consequences – worsening, reducing or limiting your other borrowing opportunities in the future. And non-fulfilment or improper fulfilment of the terms of the contract means the loss of ownership of the pledged (purchased) real estate.

  • Life can be insured for the entire scope of the mortgage obligations or only a part of them. The amount of insurance will decrease every year with the mortgage, and if an accident occurs, the insurance payout will help cover the remaining obligations of the credit agreement.
  • One life insurance contract can insure both the borrower and co-borrower.
  • We also insure persons who have taken out housing loans in other banks.
  • By choosing cumulative life insurance, you will be able to pay off your credit obligations faster or save for another long-term goal, e.g. for children's education.
  • By choosing life insurance with accumulation, you will be able to take advantage of personal income tax (PIT) relief every year and get back 20% of the amount of annual premiums paid.5
  • The service is provided by the insurance company CBL Life of the Citadele Group.

5 The total deductible amount does not exceed 25 % annual amounts of taxable income, calculated according to the procedure established by the State Tax Inspectorate and taxed at the rate of 20, 32 percent. income tax rates, but it cannot exceed 1500 euros per year (Article 21, paragraph 3 of the Income Tax Act). Expenses are deducted only from the income of a permanent resident of Lithuania when calculating the income tax for the tax period and submitting the annual income tax declaration (Income Tax Act, Article 21, Paragraph 4).

    • When insuring home property by living area, the insurer will take care of the insurance of your home property both in the storage room or garage (belonging to the apartment) and the property taken out to your yard.
  • If you encountered a robbery or outright theft in a cafe, the insurer will compensate you for the losses incurred.

How to apply for a mortgage loan?

To find out the amount of credit that can be granted to you, go to Citadele bank's website www.citadele.lt, select Loans > Housing loan and mortgage loan, here you will find the housing loan calculator. Enter the data into the calculator and find out how much you could borrow tentatively (please note that the calculator is for informational purposes only).

If you want to fill out a home loan application, click Fill out an application and log in using the available authentication tool (you can connect through Citadele Internet Bank, use Smart-ID or M. signature).

Fill in the mandatory fields of the application, provide information about yourself, indicate your other financial obligations.

After submitting the application, you will see on the screen that the application has been created, and you will also be notified by email. by letter

If you do not have any of the specified means of authentication and cannot fill out the application online, register for a visit at any Citadele bank branch , during which a bank employee will provide all the necessary information and fill out the application. Please note that you will need to provide a bank statement for the last six months showing your regular income at the time of your visit. We recommend a personal e-mail before your arrival. save the said extract in the mail so that you can send it to the "Citadele" bank employee during the meeting.

What is Smart-ID?

Smart-ID is a personal identification solution that can be used to sign loan applications.

In order to sign a completed loan application, you must have the Advanced (qualified) version of Smart-ID. You will not be able to sign an application for a loan with the Basic version of Smart-ID. To change your existing Basic version to Advanced, you can do it with a mobile signature by downloading a new Smart-ID.

If you do not have a mobile signature, but you already have the Basic version of the Smart-ID mobile application, you can change it to Advanced (qualified) by changing the biometric data (by taking a photo of your personal document and entering additional required data).

If you don't have a mobile signature and you don't have the opportunity to take a picture of your personal document, then you can change the "Smart-ID" version at one of the banks: "Swedbank", "SEB" or "Luminor".

What are the steps to get a mortgage loan?

  1. Fill out an application for a home loan.
  2. A bank employee will contact you and discuss the need and possibilities in detail.
  3. You will provide additional documents requested by the Citadele employee who is serving you (e.g. real estate valuation report)
  4. A decision on granting credit is made.
  5. You become a bank customer, open a credit service account. If you wish, you can purchase additional products/services offered by the bank at the same time (eg: payment card, mortgage insurance).
  6. A credit agreement and other documents are signed at the bank.
  7. A mortgage (property pledge) agreement is signed and confirmed at a notary. It is transferred to the Registru Centras for registration.
  8. After registering the mortgage agreement in the Registru Centras and submitting all the necessary documents to the bank, the credit amount is disbursed.

What documents are required to apply for a home loan?

Please provide the following documents:

  1. Passport or personal identity card, third-country citizen's permit for permanent residence in the Republic of Lithuania.
  2. Application. Apply online.
  3. The consent of the credit recipient (co-borrower) so that we can assess the solvency of the credit recipient (co-borrower) by checking the data in the registers.
  4. If you are self-employed or under a business license, copyright or work order agreement, please provide all supporting documentation of your income. We also ask you to submit a business certificate, declarations for the past 2 years, declaration for the current year. Expenditure warrants, copyright contracts, bank statements for the last 12-24 months.
  5. Property valuation.

We may also ask for other additional income supporting documents.

Can I apply for a consumer and housing loan online?

Applications for consumer and housing loans can be submitted online, and this can be done both by customers of Citadele Bank and other banks.

Can I repay my loan early, and does this come at an additional cost?

Yes, at any time and without additional fees you may repay your loan in full early by submitting an order for the early repayment of your loan through the online bank or at any branch.

Can I receive a loan if I have no official income?

Citadele encourages responsible borrowing, so if you have no official income, we will be unable to issue a loan to you.
