How to set up a new company and open a temporary account with Citadele Bank?

  1. Once you've chosen your legal form, use the Centre of Registers e-guide to prepare for setting up your new company.
  2. Reserve your company name and complete the company registration application. You can do this electronically through the Centre of Registers self-service system if you meet their requirements or visit a selected branch of the Centre of Registers.
  3. After logging into the Centre of Registers self-service system, submit an application to open a temporary account with Citadele Bank.
  4. Once your application is received, Citadele Bank will contact you to provide additional documents. No service fee will be applied for opening a temporary account.
  5. When the temporary account is opened, you will receive an electronically signed letter from the bank within three business days, containing your temporary account number.
  6. Pay the share capital, and once Citadele Bank receives the funds, it will automatically inform the Centre of Registers.
  7. Complete the company registration process in the Centre of Registers self-service system.
  8. After establishing your company, convert your temporary account into a business current account remotely. No service fee will be applied for opening a current account.
  9. If you become a Citadele Bank client by June 30, 2025, you can use any selected business service plan for free for 12 months. You can view all service plans and choose the one that best suits your needs here.

Important! To log in to the Centre of Registers and sign documents with the bank for opening a temporary account, you will need a qualified electronic signature. You can find the electronic signatures accepted by the Centre of Registers here, and at Citadele Bank, you can sign using Smart-ID or Mobile-ID.
